Woman, 85, killed crossing Plainview road

An 85-year-old woman was struck by a car and killed Thursday evening in Plainview.

Nassau County police said Sylvia Rosenberg of Planview was attempting to cross Woodbury Road when a 2005 Acura, making a left turn onto the street from Stratford Road, struck her at 5:41 p.m.

Police said Rosenberg suffered head trauma and was taken to a hospital, where she died Friday at 12:15 a.m.

The driver of the car was not identified by police and was not charged.
