Woman charged with attempted murder in Freeport man's stabbing
A Bellmore woman faces attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing a man during a fight in his Freeport home Saturday, Nassau police said.
Police say Christina Drew, 20, met a man, 42, near Main Street and Merrick Road in Freeport. It was unclear whether the two knew each other.
Drew and the man, whose name was not released, went back to the man's home on Layton Street, police said.
Inside the home, a fight allegedly started around 3 a.m., during which Drew produced a knife and stabbed the man on different parts of his body. The man was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, where he was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
Drew was charged with second-degree attempted murder and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She was to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court in Hempstead. Her mother declined to comment.
