A Lindenhurst woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and other related issues after she was in a minor traffic accident in Lindenhurst on Tuesday with her two young children in the vehicle, police said.

Jennifer Pyszczymuka, 36, of 853 South Bay St., was charged with two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child, a felony under Leandra's Law, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of driving while ability impaired.

Pyszczymuka's 5-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter were in the backseat of her car at 10:27 a.m. in a collision on South Bay Street and Shore Road, police said.

She was driving north on South Bay Street when she made a left turn onto Shore Road, crossed a double yellow line into southbound traffic and struck pylons that line a canal there, Suffolk police said.

Neither she nor her children were injured, police said.

Pyszczymuka was to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court, Central Islip. The children were released to a relative, police said.
