Firefighters escorted a woman from a burning home Tuesday morning in Valley Stream, police said.
Nassau County police said arson squad investigators are trying to determine the cause of the blaze that damaged the home on Dubois Avenue. Police said the investigation is routine -- and there are no indications the cause of the fire was deliberate.
Police and fire officials said no one was injured. Police said a resident was in the process of exiting the home when a volunteer firefighter arrived on the scene and assisted her. She did not require hospitalization.
The fire was reported shortly after 9 a.m., officials said.
Volunteers from Valley Stream, Lynbrook, Malverne and Woodmere responded to the fire, while Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Hewlett and Elmont provided mutual aid.
