A Bellrose woman was killed and another woman was injured in a one-car accident early Friday on the westbound Northern State Parkway in Albertson, State Police said.

Police said a preliminary investigation found wet roads may have been a factor in the crash that killed driver Momina Cheema, 25, and injured an unidentified passenger, 23.

The accident occurred at 1:30 a.m. east of Exit 29, Roslyn Road, police said.

Police said Cheema lost control on a turn and the car, a 2010 Nissan, exited the parkway and struck a tree.

Cheema was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Her passenger, who was not identified, was taken to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
