Woman thrown to ground during purse-snatching on Freeport street, cops say
Nassau County police are searching for a man who threw a 49-year-old woman to the ground and stole her purse Friday night in Freeport.
The victim was walking near Washburn Avenue at 7:34 p.m. when she was approached by the man, who grabbed her purse and knocked her to the ground, police said. No injuries were reported, police said.
The suspect then fled westbound on Washburn Avenue. The victim was not injured.
