A LIPA contract worker was injured Friday morning when he was thrown from the bucket attached to an Asplundh truck that partially flipped in Plainview, a National Grid spokeswoman said.

Officials at the scene at the corner of Plainview Road and Clearwater Drive just before 9 a.m., said the worker, whose identity was not released, was taken to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow with undisclosed injuries.

Nassau County police said the worker was ejected from the truck's bucket from a height of about 15 feet when the truck partially overturned.

A National Grid spokeswoman, Wendy Ladd, said the incident involved an Asplundh crew doing contract work for LIPA. The cause of the incident was not immediately known.
