Would-be gas station robber sought
He walked into the gas station, pointed a silver handgun at the attendant, demanded cash and fled without a dime.
Nassau County police said they are trying to find the would-be robber -- and, asking for your assistance in catching him.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 27, at about 3 a.m. at the station on Nassau Boulevard in West Hempstead.
Police said the would-be robber is about 6-foot-5 with a stocky build and he was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt, a white T-shirt, blue jeans, black boots and a dark ski mask.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest.
