LAURA L. MAIER

  • She supports local groups such as the Chamber of Commerce, sports teams and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, among others.
  • She has helped raise charitable funds to support Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park through the Children’s Miracle Network.

ISSUES:

  • Maier said she wants to cut property taxes in the 2025 budget because the town has a large reserve.
  • Her priority list also includes replacing aging playgrounds and keeping town beaches in pristine condition.
  • She said she wants to support small businesses by helping them apply for grants to help recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
