Republican
BACKGROUND
- Blumencranz, 30, is a registered Republican running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. He has been a member of the State Assembly since 2022 and promised to continue to work across the aisle for Long Island families.
- He worked as an insurance professional before becoming an assemblyman. He previously worked at the Nassau County District Court.
- Blumencranz graduated from Rice University in Houston, where he majored in public policy and religious studies, and then earned a master’s degree in regional urban planning and economic development at the London School of Economics.
ISSUES
- Blumencranz said he is focused on lowering costs and making the Island more affordable by pursuing targeted tax relief for seniors, veterans and working families; opposing unfunded state mandates that increase local property taxes; strengthening oversight of utilities and state authorities; and increasing opportunities for young people to build careers and buy homes.
- He said he would work to address repeat offenders, improve transit safety, combat human trafficking and exploitation, support law enforcement and modernize state laws to confront emerging technological threats.
- Blumencranz said he wants to connect the Island’s schools, universities, research institutions and private-sector employers so the next generation of high-paying technology and innovation jobs are created here and "young Long Islanders do not feel they have to leave home to find opportunity."
