ISSUES

- Long Island’s only member of the House Appropriations Committee, he said he’s brought home more than $27 million for clean water, public safety, and infrastructure projects.
- LaLota said he and Republicans have stood against welfare-state expansion by asking able-bodied adults to work for some public assistance benefits and limiting federal benefits for many noncitizens.
