President Barack Obama mispronounced the name of the New York comptroller, Thomas DiNapoli, as "dee-na-PO-lee," Liz Moore informs us.

Hey. Could have been a lot worse. He could have pronounced it as "harry-WIL-son" or "alan HEV-esi."

Via Mr. Madore: DiNapoli spokesman Dennis Tompkins said, "Well, that's what happens when you try to say an Italian name with a Chicago accent."
