The Suffolk County Police Department will hold a vehicle auction Saturday, with 85 cars, trucks and vans up for bid.
The auction will be held, rain or shine, at the police department impound yard on Old Country Road in Westhampton. Bidding starts at 9 a.m.
All vehicles will be sold "as is" and all sales are final. Payments are cash only, although exact certified bank checks also will be accepted for full payment.
Bidders must provide towing from the premises. Tow ropes and nylon straps are prohibited.
A full set of terms and conditions is available on the official police department website in the specialized units section under vehicle auctions.
What kinds of vehicles are available? Everything, it seems, from a 2002 Mini Cooper and a 2022 Hyundai Sonata to a 1981 Chevrolet Caprice Classic and a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis.
Need a van or pickup truck? The auction's got plenty, including a 2003 Ford E-250, a 2008 Ford E-350 and at least two 2008 Ford F-250s. There's also a 1983 Chevrolet El Camino, a 2002 Mercedes S500, a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2006 Infiniti G35.
How about a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe or a 2017 Jeep Compass?
Maybe you're in the market for a used Ford Edge, a Nissan Rogue, a Honda Pilot or a Toyota Prius?
Vehicles in the auction lot will be available to preview between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, police said.
An additional preview will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday.
All vehicles start with a minimum bid of $500. And VIN numbers are available on the auction site so prospective buyers can determine vehicle histories.
