1 airlifted to hospital after Ridge crash

One person was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital with undisclosed injuries after an accident Wednesday in Ridge, police said.

The crash, involving a truck and car, occurred about 11:50 a.m. on the southbound William Floyd Parkway near Longwood Road, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the cause of the crash was under investigation as details were still emerging Wednesday.

It was not clear how seriously injured the victim was, and the victim was not identified by police.

Police could not immediately say whether the road was closed in the area.
