One man is under arrest in the knifepoint robbery of another man Saturday night in Riverhead.

Riverhead police said the man was on Union Avenue about 10 p.m. when a group of four masked men -- two with knives, came up to him.

One of the men put a knife to the victim's throat, while the others punched the victim in the face and kicked him, police said.

The bandits then took the victim's wallet, which contained $250, before fleeing in a red BMW, police said.

A short time later, police stopped a BMW and after an investigation arrested Andre Grant, 19, of Brookhaven Town, on a charge of criminal possession of stolen property. Police said they believe Grant was involved in the street robbery.

Grant was scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday in Riverhead.
