A man was killed and two women were injured after his vehicle flipped in Patchogue early Sunday morning, Suffolk County police said.

Colin Garbett, 22, of Patchogue, was driving Colleen Malia, 22, of Oakdale, and Nicole Wilk, 20, of Bohemia, in a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu on the northbound service road of Sunrise Highway east of Waverly Avenue at 1:32 a.m. when the vehicle went out of control, hitting a fence and grass median before overturning onto the highway, police said.

Garbett, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Suffolk County medical examiner's office.

Malia and Wilk were taken by the North Patchogue Fire Department Rescue Squad to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The Malibu was impounded for safety checks, and police say an investigation continues.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
