1 injured in fireworks facility explosion

At least one person was injured in a fire at Bay Fireworks in Westhampton Beach Sunday morning, police said.

The cause of the fire, is under investigation, police said. All fire responders were cleared from the scene by 1:30 p.m., said a Westhampton Beach fire official.

Three fire departments responded to the blaze and were in the process of extinguishing it this morning, police said.

The fireworks facility is located on County Road 31 near Gabreski Airport.

Police declined to name the one person who was injured. The extent of the person's injuries were not available, police said.
