1 seriously hurt in Smithtown crash

A multicar crash in Smithtown has shut down parts of Jericho Turnpike at Morewood Drive, Suffolk County police said.
As of 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, parts of the road near the accident remained closed, a police spokeswoman said.
At least one person was seriously injured in the crash, which happened at about 1:30 p.m., she said.
The accident is potentially weather-related as it was snowing at the time, police said.
Police had no further details.
