A school bus driver and 14 children were taken to the hospital for evaluation after the minibus they were in was rear-ended Tuesday, police said.

The Suffolk Transportation Service bus was near the intersection of Main Street and Route 231 in Babylon when Suffolk County police said the driver of a 2007 Honda struck the bus from behind about 3:25 p.m.

The driver and the children, students at South Bay Junior Academy of Seventh-day Adventist on Fire Island Avenue in Babylon, were transported to a hospital for evaluation, police said.

The male driver of the Honda was not injured, but was issued a summons for a suspended license, police said.
