A delivery truck driver and his helper were arrested Tuesday, charged with stealing more than $5,000 worth of items from the loading dock area of a Greenport hospital, Southold Town police said.

Fabian D. Rojas, 42, of Hempstead, and Kevin N. Green, 31, of Jamaica, Queens, were charged with third-degree grand larceny, police said.

Both are scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in Southold Town Justice Court.

Police said the two men stole the items after making a delivery Tuesday to Eastern Long Island Hospital. Among the items taken, police said, were: an exhaust fume hood, a stainless-steel sink and base, a steel fire door, two ping-pong tables, a computer printer, an electronic medical monitor and a steel filing cabinet. Police said they tracked down the men as they were making deliveries to other East End hospitals.
