Two people were injured in a hit-and-run accident Friday night in Shirley, Suffolk police said.

A silver sedan driving west on Colin Drive hit Laura Floro, 37, of Mastic Beach, at about 8:20 p.m., Suffolk County Police Det. Sgt. Michael Tarulli said. Floro was walking along the side of the road, Tarulli said.

Witnesses saw the sedan swerve in front of one car and hit Floro, Tarulli said.

Floro was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center and reported in stable condition, Tarulli said.

A person walking with Floro, John Perrera, 51, of Shirley, was also hurt, though it was unclear whether the car also hit him. He was taken to Stony Brook hospital by ambulance for minor injuries, Tarulli said.
