Two people were transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage for treatment of minor smoke inhalation from a noon residential fire on Nathalie Avenue in North Amityville Monday.

First Assistant Chief Timothy Lay of the North Amityville Fire Department said three people in the house got out of the building on their own before firefighters arrived. The non-suspicious fire started in the kitchen and was brought under control in about 25 minutes by about 40 firefighters who responded to the alarm, Lay said.
