2 killed when cars collide in Farmingville
Two people were killed Friday night when their cars collided in Farmingville, Suffolk police said.
At about 8:39 p.m., Joseph Correa, 19, of Medford, was driving southbound on County Road 83 and lost control of his 1997 Acura, police said.
Correa crossed into oncoming traffic and struck Madeline Vicich, who was going northbound on County Road 83 in her 2009 Suzuki, police said.
Vicich, 62, of Selden, was transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Correa was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was also pronounced dead. A passenger in his car was taken to Stony Brook and treated for a broken arm, police said.
