Two men rob Amityville credit union
Police are looking for two men who robbed an Amityville credit union Wednesday afternoon, both wearing partial masks.
Amityville Village and Suffolk police said the two men entered the Teachers Federal Credit Union at 355 Broadway about 4:10 p.m. One of the men went up to the teller, announced the robbery and demanded money -- and displayed a canister of mace, police said.
The second man remained by the entrance as the robbery unfolded, police said.
Both men fled on foot with the cash, and police said they were last seen heading north toward Dixon Avenue.
The man who approached the bank teller is described as being 6 feet tall, between 180 and 200 pounds and about 40 years old. He was wearing a blue sweater, white gloves, a dark baseball cap and a fabric mask covering the lower part of his face, police said.
The second suspect is described as being 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a thin build. Police said he was wearing a white T-shirt, a baseball cap and also had a fabric mask covering the lower portion of his face.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery or has any information on the case can call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477.
