A Central Islip man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Thursday for the rape of two girls, both under the age of 13.

Sean Seignious, 28, was convicted of two counts of first-degree rape on July 11, as well as one count of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota's office said it recommended a term of 50 years in prison.

Suffolk Judge Barbara Kahn sentenced Seignious to 25 years on each of the rape convictions, as well as 1 to 7 years for sexual abuse and one year for endangering the welfare of a child, with those terms to run concurrently. The rapes were in 2008 and 2009.
