Three men who police said barged into a West Babylon home at gunpoint Sunday night and robbed the occupants of cash and "other items" are scheduled to be arraigned on burglary and weapon charges Monday in First District Court in Central Islip.

Two of the seven occupants managed to escape the multifamily home and call police. One man who was struck in the head with a handgun was treated for cuts to his face and released, said Det. Lt. Robert Edwards.

"They were targeted," said Edwards.

The three men in custody are Hasheen McLaurin, 29, and Darrick Harrison, 40, both of 26 Somerset Rd. N., North Amityville, and Kermit Williams, 37, of 32 Ridgewood Place, Bay Shore. Each man was charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree criminal use of a firearm.

The three men were arrested outside the house as they were attempting to flee, Edwards said. The robbery occurred at 10:40 p.m. Police recovered a .38-cal. Smith and Wesson revolver and a car the men were using, said Edwards. He declined to identify the items that were stolen.

The investigation is ongoing and police asked anyone with information to call First Squad at 854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
