One woman was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and two other women were taken to other hospitals after a mini-school bus and a car collided in Holtsville on Tuesday, police said.
Suffolk County police did not release their names, but said all the women appeared to have non-life-threatening injuries. Two of the women were aboard the mini bus, which police said overturned in the crash. No students were on the bus, police said.
Police said the accident occurred on the south service road of the Long Island Expressway near Blue Point Road at 9:27 a.m. The bus came to rest on its side after the collision.
Photographs from the scene showed the other vehicle, a blue Chevrolet Cavalier, crashed through a fence.
Police said the mini-bus T-boned the car, which then crossed a lawn and crashed through the fence. The driver of the Cavalier was taken to Stony Brook, police said.
It was not immediately clear what bus company owned the bus. Police said the accident investigation is continuing.
