Four people are sought by Suffolk County police in connection with a knifepoint robbery at an Amityville self-service laundry, and investigators have asked for the public's help identifying the suspects.
Two men and two women took part in the robbery at the Village Laundromat, at 536 Broadway, at about 3:45 p.m. June 4, police said in a Crime Stoppers news alert issued Wednesday.
After entering the business, the four stole $50 from an Internet access machine, and when the store manager confronted them, one of the men showed a knife, the police said. The four suspects left after the confrontation.
The man with the knife was in his 40s, 6-foot with a slim build and with dark, graying hair and a goatee. He wore a dark shirt.
The second man was also in his 40s, heavyset and wearing a white shirt.
One woman was in her 40s, with a slim build and blond hair. The other woman was heavyset with long, dark hair.
Crime Stoppers, which offers a cash reward for information leading to an arrest, can be reached at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
