Police said they arrested five people during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Brentwood.

Suffolk County Highway Patrol and Third Precinct officers, assisted by New York state troopers and Suffolk County parks police officers conducted the checkpoint on Suffolk Avenue east of Brentwood Road from about 11:15 p.m. Friday to 3:15 a.m. Saturday, police said.

A total of 607 vehicles went through the checkpoint.

Police said the following people were charged with driving while intoxicated:

· Ismael Diaz, 36, of 147 Timberline Dr., Brentwood

· Eduardo Chajon, 47, of 66 Gates Ave., Brentwood

· Nestor Trejo, 49, of 242 Waverly Ave., Medford

· Jessica Avila-Garcia, 18, of 147 Noble St., Brentwood

Benito Moncion, 63, of 46 Van Buren St., Brentwood, was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, police said.

Those charged will be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Central Islip.
