Riverhead police said Sunday they are investigating damage to seven cars in the South Jamesport area that may have been caused by a pellet gun.

The cars, along Green Street, Kirby Lane and Second Street, were found with damaged windshields and windows early Sunday morning, said Det. Timothy Hubbard.

Police suspect the damage may have occurred sometime after 10 p.m. Saturday into early Sunday morning and said anyone with information could call the department at 631-727-4500.
