A two-vehicle crash Sunday in East Patchogue left seven people injured and Suffolk police have arrested a Bellport man who they say ran a red light before the collision and charged him with drunken driving.

Police said Jorge Solorzano-Guzman, 24, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi east on Woodside Avenue when he went through a red light at Patchogue-Yaphank Road about 9:30 a.m. His Mitsubishi struck a 2001 Honda driven by Paul Raia, 28, who was headed south on that road.

Erika Perez Nivelo, 19, a rear seat passenger in Solorzano-Guzman's Mitsubishi, was taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue and treated for serious injuries, police said. Another passenger, Diana Matute Delgado, 22, was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center, police said, and treated for serious injuries.

A third passenger in the Mitsubishi, Enrique Delabarrera, 18, of Bellport, sustained minor injuries, police said, and was charged with making a false statement for initially claiming to be the vehicle's driver.

Raia, of Calverton, and two passengers in the Honda were taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries. Solorzano-Guzman was taken to Brookhaven Memorial, police said, and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He is to be arraigned Monday in First District Court in Islip.
