Eight people were taken to hospitals, all with minor injuries, after an ambulance and car collided Thursday afternoon in Babylon, Suffolk County police said.

The ambulance, which was transporting a patient, was traveling south on Frederick Avenue just before 3 p.m. when it collided at an intersection with a car traveling west on Park Avenue, police said.

A man, woman and child in the car were taken to hospitals, as were three fire department members, a Suffolk County police officer and the patient, and no citations were issued, police said.
