A lockdown that briefly closed Center Moriches High School after a 911 call reporting a suspicious male in a wooded area near the late Friday morning has been lifted, police said.

Suffolk County police said the call was received at 11:20 a.m.

A search was immediately begun in the area around the school on Frowein Road, using officers on the ground and an aviation unit. Police, however, said no suspect has been located — and said investigators are trying to determine the veracity of the call.
