Three people have been taken to a hospital after a marked police car with its lights and siren on struck a Jeep in Lindenhurst on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk County police said.

Police said the two-vehicle crash happened at South Second Street and Liberty Avenue at about 4:30 p.m., and the male police officer and two adult males from the Jeep were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with minor injuries.

Police said the Jeep landed on its side after the collision.

No further information was immediately available.
