'Aggressive' pit bull shot, killed by officer, police say

A Suffolk County police officer shot and killed a pit bull that was attacking another dog Friday, police said.
Police got a call about 12:08 p.m. reporting three pit bulls attacking another dog outside of 35 Drayton Ave. in North Bay Shore, police said.
News 12 Long Island reported that the dog being attacked was a pit bull puppy that died of its injuries.
One of the pit bulls, described by police as "aggressive," turned toward the officer, who fired his weapon at the dog, killing it, police said.
Islip Town animal control responded to the scene, police said.
