Actor and Long Island native Alec Baldwin escaped injury after crashing his wife's SUV into a tree Monday morning in East Hampton, he confirmed in a video he posted on Instagram.

The "30 Rock" star, who grew up in Massapequa, said he was driving with his brother and fellow actor Stephen Baldwin when he swerved to avoid hitting what he described as a garbage truck "the size of a whale."

"I hit a tree, a big fat tree," Baldwin said on his personal Instagram, adding that he was "fine."

Published photographs from the crash show a white Range Rover, which Baldwin referred to as his wife Hilaria's vehicle, with front-end damage and resting against the tree on what appears to be a residential property.

Baldwin thanked the East Hampton Town Police Department and Officer Ian Gerken for his assistance following the crash.

"As nice as can be and as pleasant as can be about the whole thing," the Oscar nominee said of Gerken.

Baldwin said his brother was visiting and they had attended the Hamptons International Film Festival over the weekend.

Baldwin achieved fame with a string of hit film roles in the late 1980s and early ’90s, including "The Hunt for Red October," "Beetlejuice" and "Glengarry Glen Ross," before earning a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination for his role in "The Cooler" in 2003. He had sustained success on the small screen from 2006 to 2013 on NBC's comedy "30 Rock," winning multiple Emmys and Golden Globes.

Baldwin most recently made headlines for his legal troubles related to an accidental shooting on the set of the Western film "Rust" in 2021 that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Earlier this year, he appeared along with his wife and their seven children in the TLC reality series "The Baldwins."

The actor said his family was in California on Monday.

"I'm going to L.A. to see my family," the actor said. "Can't wait."
