A man killed last week while attempting to cross Route 25A in Rocky Point has been identified as Alejandro Chamale Cubule, 27, of Rocky Point, Suffolk County police said Monday.

Police said the investigation into the crash is continuing.

No charges have been filed against the driver, who remained at the scene.

Police said Cubule was struck and killed by a 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe as he tried to cross Route 25A, just east of Rocky Point-Yaphank Road, at about 11:35 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver, identified as Nicholas Azzato, 27, of Rocky Point, was traveling east on 25A at the time of the accident.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Police are asking anyone with information to call Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
