The Amagansett School canceled classes Monday because of what likely is a plumbing issue, officials said.
"We have a flooded basement and we're still trying to determine what happened," Cheryl Bloecker, clerk for the district, said Monday morning.
The school has no water and no working bathrooms, which made it out of service for students and staff.
Workers were draining the basement and the plan is to have repairs made in time for school to be reopened on Tuesday, Bloecker said.
Students in the elementary school at 320 Main St. are off Wednesday for an extended Thanksgiving holiday.
