Amityville Beach reopened after bacteria levels drop

Amityville Beach, which had been closed Monday to swimming because of higher-than-acceptable bacteria levels, has been reopened, Suffolk County health officials said.

The closure was lifted because samples showed water quality was at an acceptable level, officials said.
