Amityville man held on house party shooting

An Amityville man accused of shooting three people at a house party on Saturday has been ordered held in jail on $1 million bond.
Tehron Sims, 25, of 4 Biel Dr., was arraigned Sunday on three counts of assault to cause physical injury with a weapon and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Judge Paul Hensley ordered Sims be held at the Suffolk County jail on $1 million bond or $500,000 cash bail and granted two orders of protection keeping Sims away from two of those shot.
Sims was arrested after police were called to 215 Maple Ct. in Copiague at about 1:40 a.m. on Saturday to break up a party and discovered that three people had been shot.
Police said a witness pointed Sims out as the shooter while the crowd was dispersing and he was taken into custody. His attorney Phillip Murphy could not be reached for comment.
The three victims were taken to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are asking anyone who attended the party and may have information on the shooting to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152. All calls will remain confidential.
Sims is due back in court June 27.
