Amityville trustees on Monday night approved a cabaret license for a lounge at 528 Broadway, the former site of the El Rodeo restaurant and bar.

Owners of the lounge, to be called Escape, said they will close at midnight or 1 a.m. weeknights and 4 a.m. on weekends.

The lounge, which already has a liquor license and Suffolk County approvals, will be open only to adults 25 and older, they said.

“We want you to succeed, we want you to be prosperous,” trustee Nick LaLota told the new owners Monday night. “But if it doesn’t go down that road, that relationship will quickly turn.”
