A Fresh Meadows man was high on drugs when he was pulled over for speeding early Tuesday on the Southern State Parkway at the line between East Farmingdale and North Amityville, State Police said.
Troopers stopped Andrew Pabon, 20, who was driving eastbound at 75 mph in a 55 mph zone, near Route 109, Exit 33, about 1:25 a.m., according to a news release.
In addition to speeding, he failed to keep his Chevrolet Tahoe in its lane, the release said.
Troopers detected signs of impairment, and Pabon failed sobriety tests; he was arrested and charged with driving while impaired by drugs, police said.
Troopers searching the vehicle said they found bottles of ketamine, an antidepressant, and MDMA, commonly known as Molly or Ecstasy. Pabon also had four bottles of ketamine on him when he was arrested, police said.
He is charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance; unlawful possession of marijuana; and traffic violations.
His arraignment information was not immediately available.
