Anthony Parlatore, leader of Brookhaven Democrats, may be eyeing another position

Brookhaven Democrats may soon be looking for a new town party leader.

Richard Schaffer, Suffolk Democratic chairman, declined to say whether current town leader Anthony Parlatore is looking to exit. But Schaffer said he expects to meet with Parlatore soon and that the town leader has indicated he "wants to do whatever is best for the party."

Schaffer said Parlatore may be "looking at other leadership positions," but would not be more specific. Other party sources say Parlatore is in line for an appointment to the Suffolk Board of Ethics, which would preclude him from continuing as town leader. The Suffolk County Legislature has two vacancies to fill on the ethics board.
