Firefighters battled a blaze Friday morning at about 3:30 but no injuries were reported after the fire forced residents to evacuate a four-apartment complex in Ridge, Suffolk County police said. (Jan. 27, 2012) Credit: Stringer News

No injuries were reported after fire forced residents to evacuate a four-apartment complex in Ridge Friday morning, Suffolk County police said.

A fire broke out at about 3:30 a.m. in an unoccupied apartment at the Strathmore Village complex on Valley Forge Court, police said.

The fire was in apartment 6A, which was unoccupied. Residents of the other three units evacuated as the fire ravaged the apartment, police said.

All units had some smoke and fire damage, police said.

A call to the Ridge Fire Department was not immediately returned.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
