Apparent drowning victim identified
The man who apparently drowned in the pool of a Quiogue home Sunday has been identified as Efrain Suruy, Southampton police said Tuesday.
Suruy, who was in his 20s, was found dead about 6 a.m. Sunday in a built-in, backyard pool, police said. He had been living in Westhampton Beach Village, police said.
Police are awaiting autopsy results, but believe he drowned. "We don't think there's any foul play involved," said Southampton Det. Sgt. Lisa Costa.
This story was changed to correct Efrain Sury's name and the location of the drowning, which was in Quiogue.
