Suffolk County's arson squad is investigating a fire that broke out at a vacant Brentwood home early Tuesday, police said.

Firefighters and police responded to an emergency call for a fire at a home under renovation on the 300 block of Whipple Street, about a block west of Washington Avenue, at about 3 a.m., the spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said the home was unoccupied and that minor injuries to two firefighters were reported.

No other information was available, the spokeswoman said.

Phone calls to the Brentwood Fire Department were not immediately returned.
