Assemb. Hennessey moves into district; family stays put
Nine months after his election, Assemb. Edward Hennessey (D-Brookhaven) has moved into his district, but his family appears to be staying put in East Moriches.
On Sept. 30, Hennessey switched his voter registration address to Smith Point, where he says he's living. Due to special reapportionment rules for last year's election, Hennessey was not required to reside in the 3rd District when he ran.
He said his wife and two children remain outside the district because one son has two years left in high school. "No doubt it's stressful, but it's the best arrangement for my family while I do my job," he said. -- Rick Brand
