Suffolk County police received a 911 call at about 2 a.m., reporting shots fired at the Colonial Springs Shopping Center parking lot, on Colonial Springs Road, after an apparent altercation.

Police said the two men, who are friends, were running toward their car when they were shot at multiple times.

Police said they didn't know yet the circumstances that led to the shootings.

Charles Harris, 19, of Wyandanch, was taken by Wyandanch-Wheatley Heights Ambulance Corp. to Good Samaritan hospital where he was listed in serious condition.

The investigation is continuing, police said. Detectives ask anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
