Attempted bank robbery in Copiague
Suffolk County's Major Case Investigations Unit is investigating an attempted bank robbery Thursday in Copiague, police said.
At 10:24 a.m., a man entered the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union, at 314 Great Neck Rd., and handed a note to a teller, demanding cash. The note implied violence if the teller did not comply, police said, but the man fled the bank without getting any money.
The man is described as short, 5-feet-3 to 5-feet-5, with a stocky build and short, salt-and-pepper-colored hair.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers, 800-220-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
