Babylon auction Saturday features vehicles, equipment
The Town of Babylon on Saturday will auction off abandoned and surplus vehicles and equipment.
There will be nearly 100 vehicles and pieces of equipment auctioned. Some of the vehicles being auctioned include a 1974 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow; a 2006 Mercedes-Benz S550; a 2000 Mercedes-Benz ML430; a 2005 Cadillac STS; a 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLK350; a 2002 Jaguar X-Type; and a 2006 Lincoln Navigator. A 25 percent deposit in cash or certified funds will be required at the time of knockdown of bid, with the remainder due by noon or at the office of the auctioneer in Central Islip between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. All proceeds will go into the town's Department of Public Works fund.
Inspection will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. and the auction will start at 9 a.m. at the town facility located at 1023 N. Indiana Ave., Lindenhurst.
